Jacob Gaboury

Jacob Gaboury is an Assistant Professor of Digital Media and Visual Culture in the Department of Art History at Stony Brook University, His current book – forthcoming from MIT Press – is titled Image Objects, and it offers a material history of early computer graphics from 1960-1980, told through a set of five technical objects that structure the production and circulation of all digital images today. In the past he has held fellowships with the Max Planck Society, MECS, the ACM, and the IEEE, and his work has recently been published in the Journal of Visual Culture and Camera Obscura.
